As Vice Chair of the City Council Committee on Environmental Protection and Energy, I have been able to ensure that the 39th Ward remains at the forefront of efforts to reduce greenhouse emissions and safeguard our natural environments.
I was proud to ensure the North Park Village Conservation Easement would be in effect in perpetuity, preserving and conserving the land for generations.
My priority is to keep our public spaces clean and vibrant. I wrote, introduced, and passed legislation to discourage Chicago restaurants from automatically providing single-use plastics in takeout and delivery orders. This legislation has had a direct impact on plastics pollution in our city and in our neighborhoods.
